We are convinced that Hey,Listen! will help you connect with your customers and improve the products you care about. To help you feel more confident with the tool, we’ve created this helpful guide.

Get started

To start using Hey,Listen! you have to sign up first by clicking the Sign Up button. On the sign-up page, please fill in the registration form: your e-mail address, your name, and a password. All fields are required.

Please make sure that you store the password in a safe place, but don’t worry if you forget it! You can always reset your password using your e-mail address.

Your email address will also be used to send you notifications, e.g. when a new idea is added to one of your projects. You can use the same account to manage your projects from any device and share the admin rights with your colleagues.

Create a project

Welcome to your workspace – a place where you can create different projects for your websites, apps, products, businesses, etc.

Go ahead and create your first project. To do that, you must choose a name for the project and a short URL. Just enter the name and you will see that the short URL was generated automatically.

This short URL (also called as a slug) is a part of a Link you will send to your clients or use for your software/website. It’s a good idea to keep it nice and consistent so you will have no mix-ups in the future.

When done, visit your project by clicking on its name or on the eye icon.

You can edit the project name and the short URL any time – just click on the pencil icon to modify them.

Name your workspace

The workspace name is generated randomly and is just a combination of numbers and letters. To make it clearer, you can set a special name for your workspace. It will also be a part of the Link, so you can use your company name or anything else that makes sense to you.

To edit the workspace name, please click on your profile → Settings.

Attention: if you have already shared this link on your website or sent it to your clients, don't forget to update it according to your changes!

Add an idea

A little tip: nobody likes to be the first person on the dancefloor, so we highly recommend adding your own ideas at the very beginning. When the first users land on your page they can already check out some suggestions and like them or get inspired to leave new ideas.

To create an idea, click on the "I have an idea!" button and explain in a few words what's on your mind. If you want to give some additional details, use the comments field below. When you are ready, click on the Submit button. Your idea will be published on your project page.

Add a comment

Communication is the key! Click on the idea title to read and post comments. If you want to post an official reply, make sure that you are logged in, so you will comment as Admin.

Tip: Want to comment anonymously? Copy the URL of your idea and open it in a browser where you are not logged in. You can now comment as a user!

Like an idea

Under each idea, you can see a small heart icon. You can support any idea with a like and unlike it if you ever change your mind.

Likes are important to get the idea to the Top.

Sort ideas

By default, the ideas are sorted by the number of likes (except for those that are tagged as Most likely to be implemented). It’s called the Top section.

You can click on 'New' to sort the ideas in chronological order and stay updated on the latest news. You decide.

Tag ideas

Another way to communicate with the clients is tags. Tags ensure full transparency of your decisions and show your engagement in solving the issues. You can select one of the 4 tags:

  • Planned
  • Done
  • Work in progress
  • Most likely to be implemented

Manage your projects

While you are logged in as an Admin, you have the power to delete ideas or comments. You can also edit the name and a short URL of the project and even delete it if you don’t need it anymore.

Plans & payments

Currently, Hey,Listen! offers a free trial period for the first 100 users. During this Trial you may use all features of Hey,Listen! for free - no charges will apply, and no credit card required.

The app will stay free of charge for the mentioned 100 subscribers till January 31, 2020. When the Trial period is over, certain features of Hey,Listen! might become paid. You will be notified 2 weeks in advance about the expiration of your Trial period.

You can then downgrade to a free plan, upgrade to a paid plan with additional features or search for another option.
