Just like the iCloud app. When downloading from Icloud don't place every photo in a single folder. Place the pictures in folders by the year.
I agree. There is another app from someone else that lets you organize your downloaded iphotos photos by year, month, album, etc that might be good to take a look at.
You can download for free (opensource) a program called Faststone Image Viewer and you can organize automatically your pictures and videos by year/month/year-month-day folder
The folder I download to is in my Dropbox, which has "Automations" now, which can automatically rename files, sort them into monthly or yearly folders, and convert them to other image/audio/video formats on the fly. I use the rename and sort automations on my Camera Uploads folder in Dropbox and it works great.
However, it does actually move the files into those folders, so I expect it will break the incremental downloading functionality. My fix is to have scheduled task that runs a PowerShell script that creates hardlinks of the files in my Cloudly sync folder in my Camera Uploads folder and let the Dropbox automation rename and move that "copy" of the file. I would be preferable to have Cloudly handle all of it.
I also agree that this would add useful functionality onto the already handy app.
